Short Floor Light

Sculpture

21cm / 21cm / H 87cm

materials: PLA

A vertical beacon of rhythmic precision, the Short Floor Light stands as a modern-day obelisk. Its foundation grounds a soaring translucent shaft, which ascends into a sculpted capital of gridded geometry. The layered segments taper and expand in measured cadence, conjuring echoes of stepped ziggurats and brutalist watchtowers.

Through its translucent PLA body, light diffuses with gentle intensity, revealing a spectral tapestry of curved forms and geometric overlays. The result is a warm, glowing totem—elegant in stature, quietly futuristic, and evocative of sacred architecture repurposed for contemporary living.

The short floor light is part of four in the titled collection. It draws upon the rich tapestry of Chinese mythology, specifically the celestial realm known as the Heavenly Palace (天宫) — a divine citadel presided over by the Jade Emperor, ruler of the heavens.

The series reimagines this mythic landscape through four  illuminated objects, each envisioned as a sacred bastion suspended in the sky.
